SHARING OUR GIFTS ... Welcome to Online Pledging & Online Giving!

A pledge is your commitment to make a financial gift that supports the mission of St. John. Pledging is a response to God's call and abundance in our own lives - it's a statement of thanksgiving!

Completing your pledge online offers you the opportunity to make your commitment whenever you are ready.

Online giving is a convenient way to make your donations to St. John.  You can set them up as a one-time donation or you can have your donations automatically recur. Online giving allows you 24-hour access to make your contributions - from anywhere.

But what about "special" or "designated" contributions?  Special or designated programs are rotated throughout the year on the Online Giving page. (example ~ contributions toward Day Camp or Mission Trip Fund typically show up only during the spring and summer months).

Not sure how to make an online contribution? Click the video tutorial button below, and if you still have questions, contact the church office.

Your Generosity Matters

Do you hear comments about your contributions to St. John

and how it helps shape the world around you?

Do you wonder what that means?

St. John is a generous congregation that assists programs that align with the mission of the church by fostering deep relationships that bring a spirit of encouragement and healing to all.

Contributions given to St. John are shared between St. John (87%), the Western ND Synod (10%),

St. Luke's Nursing Home (1.5%) and Badlands Ministries (1.5%).  The overall budget for St. John is then divided into 4 main categories: Worship, Outreach, Community Life and Faith Formation.

What does this all mean?

It means you are supporting St. John in its ministries and to support its mission to Live in Service to Christ.

No, it’s not just paper supplies, computers and office staff!

  • It is about educational programs for all ages as we learn more about what God is trying to TEACH us.
  • It is about mission trips, day camps, GIFTS classes and leadership meetings as we learn more about what God is trying to SHOW US.
  • It is about worship and music as we learn more about what God is trying to TELL us.
  • It’s about SERVING OTHERS with “God’s Work. Our Hands.”, quilting, Angel Tree, Mission trips and Lutheran World Relief and other programs around the world.

With every contribution given to St. John, 13% of it is shared between the Western ND Synod, Badlands Ministries Bible Camp and St. Luke's Nursing Home.

It means you are supporting the ministry at

St. Luke’s Nursing Home.

Your contributions provide funds for theloving care that enhances the dignity and respect of its residents -  items such as a van to transport their residents to their healthcare appointments

Do you hear the words "Designated Gifts" and wonder what that means?

Designated gifts are your contributions given for a specific purpose - such as the Building Fund, the Mission Trip fund, ministries around the world (think Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Relief, etc.). These gifts are given aside from the General Fund.

What about the "Trust Fund"?

The Trust Fund is designed to preserve the principal (your gifts), with a portion of the earnings used to fulfill our mission (giving aid to those in need).  Since 1985, under the guidance of the Trust Fund Committee, the Trust Fund has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the needs of the church, our local community, and missions throughout the United States and the world. Find out more about the Trust Fund here!

Ways to Give

As more technology becomes available, things become easier. Even things we thought were simple before! Something as simple as putting cash or a check in an envelope for our offering has now taken on many forms.  There are ways to electronically contribute with Simple Giving or Online Giving (you can also utilize our app or the GIVE QR code!);  or you can contribute by utilizing a paper or cash method by utilizing offering envelopes. Sound confusing?  Hopefully this explanation will educate you about the myriad “Ways to Give”, and hopefully making the process more convenient for you!

OFFERING ENVELOPES

The use of offering envelopes is probably the most "traditional", and for some the most comfortable.  Offering envelopes come in a booklet, with envelopes for each week that can be torn out of the book and utilized. You can be drop off your envelope at the church office, put in the offering plate, or it can be mailed.

How to start:  If you would like a booklet of offering envelopes, contact the Finance Administrator.

ELECTRONIC GIVING

     SIMPLE GIVING

This method gives you the convenience of automatic payments from your bank account without having to go through the process of setting it up - and changes can be made as often as you like! (setting up the account and all changes require a signature)

How to start: Complete a Simple Giving form authorizing St. John to set up the automatic payment for you (making the process “Simple”). You can fill-in the form online OR print a copy, fill out and return it to the church office.

     ONLINE GIVING

With online giving, you manage your own automatic or one-time donation through our website or app.

How to start: Click on the GIVE ONLINE button above. You will be directed to a secure page to set up your own account.  For future reference, click on the GIVE button at the top of the Homepage to return to the Giving Online section.

You can also give online by utilzing any device through our St. John app which gives you full access to the

St. John website.
