First and foremost, we want you to know that your congregation staff, leadership, and pastors are all praying for you in these challenging times. We know there is a lot of confusion and uncertainty in your lives right now and with so much uncertainty comes stress and anxiety. We are a church together and we know that Jesus shows up exactly at times like these.

ALL CHILDREN are welcome to be a part of these programs ~ you do not need to be a member of St. John to be a part of the programs that are offered! You must, however, sign up for these programs so you have the correct codes to participate!

Story Night

This is a time to remember who we are as a church and why we exist. We exist because God created us and works every day to redeem us. We exist because Jesus died and rose from the dead. We exist because we believe this is the best story in the entire world and it is a story we want to share! The way we have told and learned this story has looked a lot of different ways since the beginning of the church.  And this time is no different!

So, this fall we will be entering deeper into God’s story as a church - online on Wednesday nights.

Story Night | Wednesdays at 6:00pm | On Zoom
Starting Wednesday September 9th at 6:00 pm, your family is invited to gather on Zoom with Kaitlyn Blend (and maybe even some guest stars!). She will lead you in some scripture, learning, and music. Then you will be sent off to “breakout rooms” with other families to do some sort of activity and discussion to help you further into God’s story. You will all be the teachers and the students!

          Register for Story Night

Once you’ve registered you will receive all the information you need to participate in God’s story each week.

FYI - only those registered will receive the Zoom link.

Summer Day Camp

day camp1

Hello Day Camp enthusiasts!

We hope you are enjoying your summer, and are able to take time to relax and have fun! You are probably wondering about St. John’s Summer Day Camp, and what is planned for this event. Our Programming staff and Bible Camp Staff have come together to try and figure out the logistics of holding a Day Camp at St. John while adhering to all of the safety and health guidelines. Ultimately, they decided that it is best to cancel Day Camp for this summer.

Some reasons for this cancellation:
• Space - Our church spaces are not very conducive to social distancing.
• Numbers - We usually have over 100 kids at Day Camp. We are concerned with how many people would want to register from other churches who didn't have Day Camp offered this summer.
• Staff - Badlands is operating with a limited staff this summer, and they also have onsite programming during and after the week scheduled for St John's Day Camp. There would not have been adequate staffing for the programming and added safety guidelines that are necessary to follow.
• Risk - Cases are rising and the camp cannot risk exposing that many staff members with camp still going on at Badlands

Badlands Ministries continues to hold camps on-site this summer, and camperships are still available! Visit our website and click on the campership screen to receive a credit on your camp registration. These camperships are provided through the St. John Trust Fund, and are available for all members of St. John to attend camp in Medora. You may also consider to do some fun things as a family that nurtures your spiritual growth.

Continue to watch for new and exciting things happening within our midst. There are many changes taking place right now amid the pandemic, and how we care for our neighbors. Looking for some fun ideas? Watch for some in the St. John E-News!
