Making a Promise to Share my TIME, TALENTS & GIFTS
A Promise to support the mission of St. John financially is a response to God's call and abundance in our own lives - it's a statement of thanksgiving! Whether it is a promise of your time, talent, or a financial gift,
making your promise online offers you the opportunity to make your commitment whenever you are ready.
.2021\22 Promise to Give Give Online Now
Online giving is a convenient way to make your donations to St. John. You can set them up as a one-time donation or you can have your donations automatically recur. Online giving allows you 24-hour access to make your contributions - from anywhere.
But what about "special" or "designated" contributions? Special or designated programs are rotated throughout the year on the Online Giving page. (example ~ contributions toward Day Camp or Mission Trip Fund typically show up only during the spring and summer months).

As more technology becomes available, things become easier. Even things we thought were simple before! Something as simple as putting cash or a check in an envelope for our offering has now taken on many forms. There are ways to electronically contribute with Simple Giving or Online Giving (you can also utilize our app or the GIVE QR code!) and "Text-to-Give". You can also contribute by utilizing a paper or cash method with offering envelopes. Sound confusing? Hopefully this explanation will educate you about the myriad “Ways to Give”, and hopefully making the process more convenient for you!
The use of offering envelopes is probably the most "traditional", and for some the most comfortable. Offering envelopes come in a booklet, with envelopes for each week that can be torn out of the book and utilized. You can be drop off your envelope at the church office, put in the offering plate, or it can be mailed.
How to start: If you would like a booklet of offering envelopes, contact the Finance Administrator.
SIMPLE GIVING - This method gives you the convenience of automatic payments from your bank account without having to go through the process of setting it up - and changes can be made as often as you like! (setting up the account and all changes require a signature)
How to start: Complete a Simple Giving form authorizing St. John to set up the automatic payment for you (making the process “Simple”). You can fill-in the form online OR print a copy, fill out and return it to the church office.

In 2019, St. John acquired the home at 115 5th Avenue West, Dickinson, ND. After considering many options of how St. John would utilize this property, it was determined by the congregation to utilize it as a parsonage. This property (home and lot) were purchased for $400,000.
A loan was set up with payments of $100,000 over a 4-year period. Repayment of this loan would be paid by the St. John Endowment Fund and by contributions given by congregant members (church budget).
In 2022 and 2023, St. John's portion of the loan is due to be paid (in the amount of $50,000 each year).
The current amount still required
to raise for 2022 is
$50,000.
