St. John has a very active group of preschool and elementary-age students. You are invited to join in the fun activities! Church School is held on Wednesday evenings to accomodate busy families .... it is a night of fun, fellowship time, worship and activity! We begin with a meal together at 5:15 pm, followed by Church School and Milestone Ministry classes, and ending the evening with a fun and active worship service for the whole family at 6:30 pm.

Due to current health concerns and "social distancing" requirements, Church School LIVE! (St. John YouTube) at 3:00 pm has replaced the Wednesday night schedule. Classes will meet through May 13th.

During the summer, St. John hosts a Day Camp to reunite students in a fun, faith-filled adventure!

Nursery

toddler
The Little Blessings Nursery is available for parents and children anytime. There are many toys, games, and books for children to enjoy while they spend time in the nursery. Although we do not offer a structured class time for children under the age of 3, we keep church lessons and activities in a hanging cupboard in the nursery. You are encouraged to use these materials with your children.

The nursery is staffed during classes (when requested) throughout the school year. Anyone is welcome to  utilize the nursery anytime, however a parent or guardian must accompany their child.

Church School

churchschool.jpgChurch School is held for children from age 3 through the

6th grade during the school year.

Lessons are based on a monthly them, and broken up into weeks. Classes are engaging and focus on this monthly theme.

Gather—       Everyone gathers together to discuss the lesson for

the day and answer questions to get everyone engaged

Explore—     During this “phase”, students are involved with a game, activity or craft that reinforces the

                      Bible story for the week.

Connect—   Students come together and talk about what they learned, making a connection between the

Bible story and activity. Everyone prays together, then continues their lesson in worship with

                     their family.

HOW TO REGISTER:

You can complete a registration form online, or you can print the form to complete and return to the church office.

Children are also encouraged to attend Milestone Ministry classes scheduled throughout the year along with a parent or guardian. These classes are fun and interactive and concentrate on a specific topic. Classes for each age group typically meet twice during the year.

There are many opportunities to assist with Church school and other events! We invite you to visit Serving Opportunities for a list and description.

Summer Day Camp

day camp1

Over 100 children returned to St. John  in August 2019 for a week filled with fun,

games, music and stories about God's love and how we are to live

our lives out faithfully! It was a fun and eventful week.

Summer Day Camp 2020

August 3rd - 6th

Each summer, St. John partners with Badlands Ministries Bible Camp to offer a Summer Day Camp in Dickinson. St. John gives thanks to the St. John Trust Fund and all of its contributors so every child can attend this camp at no cost!  Contributions are always welcome to help with supply costs, but are not required.

  • This camp is for elementary-aged children (those who have completed Kindergarten - 6th grade)*.
  • You do not need to be a member of St. John to attend this camp.

 * It is important to note the age restrictions for this camp.

(All campers must be incoming 1st grade - 7th grade students.)

Details on this camp will be available this summer. Due to current health concerns and "social distancing" requirements, details on camp times / activities may change prior to August.  However, you can register now to "reserve your spot" if we are limited to the number of campers we can accept.

Note: Camp may be cancelled if we are unable to meet current guidelines set by the state of ND.
